Baggage handler who tried to flush loot down a toilet jailed

A baggage handler was nabbed in a ladies' washroom at the airport, as he was flushing 60,000 rupees ($1,360) down the toilet.

He had apparently filched the cash from the luggage of a passenger.

Selvakumar Kanniappan, however, only managed to get rid of 12,500 rupees.

Investigations later revealed that the 42-year-old was also involved in a series of thefts committed from January 2010 to March last year.
