MRT services disrupted on East-West line

MRT services on the East-West line in both directions between Pasir Ris and Tampines were disrupted late last night, according to the official SMRT Twitter account.

SMRT first warned around 10pm of an additional five minutes of travelling time from Joo Koon towards Pasir Ris due to "a train fault".

Shortly after, it tweeted that travelling from Tampines to Pasir Ris - one stop away - would take an additional 20 minutes more. It advised commuters to seek alternative transport.

There appeared to have been multiple disruptions. Only shortly after it said that operations were back to normal around 11pm, SMRT announced there were no train services again.
