HK workers have longest working hours in Asia-Pacific region
HONG KONG - Hong Kong's employees have the longest working hours in the Asia-Pacific region as they face an increasing number of projects, Bloomberg reported.
Citing results of a report by human resources company Hudson Global, Bloomberg said almost half of those surveyed said they were working more than 51 hours a week as customer demands rose.
About 40 per cent of employers interviewed said they planned to add employees in the next three months, compared with 38 per cent a year earlier, according to the survey of 388 businesses.
"Longer hours don't always equal greater productivity," Mr Tony Pownall, general manager of Hudson Hong Kong, was quoted by Bloomberg as saying.
