More Singaporeans to star in HBO Asia series

More Singaporean talents, including Chin Han of The Dark Knight (2008) fame, have signed on to star in drama series Serangoon Road, HBO Asia's first foray into original TV production.

Chin Han, 42, who also appeared in Steven Soderbergh's Contagion (2011), will play a ruthless and ambitious grandson of a shadowy triad leader.

Other new home-grown names added to the Serangoon Road list include Lim Kay Tong, Tan Kheng Hua and Edmund Chen. They join a cast led by Hollywood-based Chinese actress Joan Chen (The Last Emperor, 1987) and Australian actor Don Hany (Lucky Miles, 2007).

Singaporeans already signed on to the project previously include Pamelyn Chee, who has acted in both English and Mandarin TV series such as Point Of Entry (2010 - 2011) and The Little Nyonya (2008), and Alaric Tay, who is best known for playing nasal-toned reporter Andre Chichak on parody sketch show The Noose (2007 - 2012).
