TVB Hong Kong dramas made me laugh - and cry

You know a TVB Hong Kong drama is worth checking out when your brother, who was weaned on a television diet of American sitcoms, watches it too.

Still, not leaving it to my brother’s questionable taste (just kidding, Bro), I did my own research on his trio of favourite Hong Kong dramas: modern medical drama The Hippocratic Crush and two comedies set in different eras, namely Daddy Good Deeds and Queens Of Diamonds And Hearts.

All three productions featured regularly on the weekly top 10 drama-viewership rankings in Hong Kong, and their final episodes reportedly attracted millions of viewers.

Impressed, I set off on a Hong Kong drama marathon to see if the shows were as good as their viewership ratings suggested.
