2 dead, 6 seriously hurt in German truck-bus crash

BERLIN (AP) - German police say three trucks and a bus whose passengers included a group of Polish 7th-grade students have crashed outside Berlin, killing two people and seriously injuring six.

The bus carrying 61 people from Poznan to London crashed on the highway near the town of Michendorf on Thursday after the driver slowed because of traffic and a Polish truck rear-ended it. Police say it is not yet clear why the truck didn't brake.

The impact pushed the bus into another truck, which itself rammed a third truck.

The driver of the truck that initially hit the bus and his passenger were both killed. Three children, both bus drivers and the driver of the second truck were all taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
