7th man jailed for sex with underage prostitute in online sex ring case

A seventh man was convicted on Monday in the high-profile online sex ring case involving an underage prostitute.

Businessman Raziuddin Mohamed Naseem, 28, was given 12 weeks' jail after he admitted to paying $500 for the sexual services of the 17-year-old girl at Hotel 81 Bencoolen on Nov 18, 2010.

The court heard that Raziuddin came across vice operator Tang Boon Thiew's website offering escort services to men for varying sums of money in 2010.

On Nov 17 that year, he sent a text message to Tang asking if the minor, who was described as an 18-year-old, could provide sexual services the next day.
