Fans start queuing for the new iPhone 5 in Singapore


It will be a 16-hour wait at least for Mr Melva Yip, 22 - first in line for the new iPhone 5 on Thursday at the Paragon M1 store.

The Nanyang Polytechnic student took his spot at 3.30pm. He was also first to queue for the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S previously at M1 stores, he said. The store opens on Friday at 8am.

SingTel says 68,000 people have registered their interest in Apple's latest handset. StarHub and M1 also reported strong demand for the phone.
