Colombia seeks drug lord nabbed in Venezuela
BOGOTA (AFP) - Colombia is making arrangements for the deportation of a man it calls its last major drug lord, nabbed in Venezuela while talking in a phone booth, the government said on Wednesday.
Daniel "El Loco" Barrera was arrested on Tuesday in the city of San Cristobal in an international sting led from Washington.
Colombian Defence Minister Juan Carlos Pinzon said that in previous arrests of Colombian drug suspects in Venezuela, the Caracas government deported them, and that the same procedure were underway with Barrera.
But since Barrera had "tentacles in other countries," other nations might want him as well," Mr Pinzon added.
