Schools win awards for capturing memories
During the rainy season in the 1970s, the lake in Chung Cheng High School would overflow and students would clamber down its banks to catch fish.
Madam Sai Choo, a cleaner at the school for the past 40 years, shared these memories with present-day students so that they could document them in multimedia form.
Her story is one of the many memories that have been captured as part of a competition to encourage students and educators alike to share and contribute what they remember of their schooldays.
The iremembermySchoolDays competition is organised by the Singapore Memory Project and the Ministry of Education. Eighty-seven teams from 44 schools collected more than 380 memories for the competition, which was held over six months from March.
