10 organisations win energy-efficiency awards
More than half the steel used in building Singapore's offices, homes and other buildings is made in an energy-efficient way.
Singapore steelmaking giant Natsteel, which supplies some 60 to 70 per cent of local construction steel products, this evening won an award for its energy-saving practices.
These help it save more than 20 per cent on its annual multi-million-dollar energy bill.
It was one of 10 companies and public sector agencies to win an Energy Efficiency Partnership Award at a ceremony at Mandarin Orchard Hotel on Tuesday evening, with Environment and Water Resources Minister Vivian Balakrishnan as guest of honor.
