SMRT increases train and bus trips for Singapore Grand Prix 2012


Formula One Singapore Grand Prix 2012 spectators will find travelling to and from this year's race venue more convenient. There will be additional train trips and extended train and bus service hours on the race days from Sept 21 to Sept 23.

Spectators and visitors will also benefit from the close proximity of six SMRT stations around the race venue - City Hall, Raffles Place, Nicoll Highway, Promenade, Bayfront and Esplanade stations. Waiting times will for the trains will decrease with trains arriving every three minutes at these stations.

From Sept 21 to Sept 23, the last trains that are bound for the north, east and west will depart at 1.11am. The last train from Promenade station on the circle line will depart at 1am. The Bukit Panjang LRT service will also be extended with the last train departing from Choa Chu Kang at 2.10am.

Due to road closures at The Padang and Marina Centre, 12 basic bus services, seven premium bus services and six nightrider bus services will be diverted from Sept 19 to Sept 25.
