British tabloid The Sun will not publish topless Kate pics

LONDON (AFP) - Britain's top-selling newspaper The Sun said on Friday it would not be publishing the topless photographs of Prince William's wife Catherine which were printed in a French magazine.

The editor of the Rupert Murdoch-owned paper, Dominic Mohan, said: "The Sun has no intention of breaching the royal couple's privacy."

Mr Mohan argued that the photographs of the former Kate Middleton during a holiday in southern France could not be compared to the shots of a naked Prince Harry during a game of strip billiards in Las Vegas which The Sun published.

"The circumstances are very different to those relating to the photos of Prince Harry in Las Vegas," he said. "Prince Harry was at a party with a large group of strangers - one of whom released a photo into the public domain."
