Man's 2 molest charges compounded for $2,000

An Australian national was cleared of two charges of outraging the modesty of a woman passenger on board a plane after he had compounded the matter for $2,000.

Mr Rajput Sandeep Singh, 30, who is in the IT line, made an unequivocal public apology to the 32-year-old woman who was in court on Monday.

He was initially charged with running his fingers from her left to right thigh and back to the left, touching her pubic area twice in the process of doing so.

This happened when he was seated next to her on board a Singapore Airlines flight from New Delhi, India, to Singapore at about 5.30am on Aug 25.
