Young Singaporeans urged to sign up for LPA

More people are warming up to a legal instrument that allows for a next-of-kin to make key decisions on their behalf should they lose the ability to do so.

Still not enough young people are doing so.

Latest figures show that more than 2,000 people have signed up for the Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA), which was introduced under the Mental Capacity Act in 2010.

This legislation, set up to safeguard the autonomy those who have lost their mental capacity, allows them to nominate trusted people to take care of financial and personal matters.
