Haze returns as air quality dips to 'moderate' in Singapore

Hazy days are here again, with the air quality dipping further into the 'moderate' range as of 4pm on Thursday, the National Environment Agency (NEA) said.

The PSI reading at 4pm ranged between 58-64, with the highest levels recorded in the north and east. 

The NEA attributed the hazy conditions to an escalation of hotspot activities in Sumatra, leading to smoke being blown over from the south-east or south-west.

Singapore is expected to experience brief periods of slight hazy conditions should the fires in the region persist. The NEA advised those with heart or lung disease, as well as children and older adults, to reduce prolonged or heavy outdoor exertion. All others are advised to limit prolonged or heavy exertion.
