Sentosa military barracks to become a heritage hotel
It will help to meet demand from soaring visitor numbers
They were once home to artillerymen defending Singapore against seaborne invaders during World War II.
Now, the former British military barracks on Sentosa are set to be turned into a rather more comfortable form of accommodation.
A heritage hotel is due to be built on the site, which is the size of four football pitches.
Companies keen to take on the project are being asked to submit tender bids to the island's dedicated statutory board, the Sentosa Development Corporation.
