Art finds a home in Singapore's heartland
Several new plans are being rolled out to put the "art" in Singapore's heartland.
Among them: a community museum in Taman Jurong, a Silver Arts festival for senior citizens, and more heritage trails that celebrate distinctive neighbourhoods with an interesting past.
These activities come under a Living Arts, Loving Culture tagline and logo launched on Saturday by Minister for Communications and Information Yaacob Ibrahim to make arts and culture part of everyday life for all.
The agencies rolling out programmes include the National Arts Council, National Library Board and People's Association.
