Wushu exponents bag two more golds to end campaign with a total of six

SINGAPORE - The Republic's wushu exponents added two golds and two silvers on Monday to end their SEA Games campaign with a total of six golds, three silvers and three bronzes.

The two gold medals were won by team captain Lee Tze Yuan in the men's compulsory taijiquan event, and the men's trio of Fung Jin Jie, Tan Xiang Tian and Tay Wei Sheng in the duilian barehand event.

Samuel Tan and Valerie Wee added a silver in the optional tajiquan and women's taijijian events respectively.

Singapore had secured only one gold per Games since 2005.

Samuel, who was "a bit disappointed" with his silver medal, said: "We gave our best and tried to win more medals to boost the medal tally for Singapore.

"We have made a lot of improvements at this SEA Games."
