He had spent three months training to race in next weekend's Gold Coast Marathon (GCM), but is now "highly unlikely" to be able to make the trip to Australia.

The trip that Mr Ang, who did not want to give his full name, and his wife were to have taken was cancelled at the 11th hour by its organiser, running coach Lexxus Tan.
