Train and bus services operating hours extended for SEA Games

SINGAPORE - The operating hours for trains and selected bus services will be extended on June 5 for the opening of the SEA Games, public transport operators SMRT and SBS Transit said on Friday.

The timings for the last trains on June 5 are:

North-South and East-West Lines

The last trains will depart City Hall MRT at 12.30am towards Jurong East, Marina Bay, Pasir Ris and Joo Koon MRT stations.

The last train towards Marina South Pier MRT station departs City Hall station at 12.14am.

Circle Line

The last train will depart Dhoby Ghaut MRT station at 11.55pm towards HarbourFront MRT station.

The last train depart HarbourFront MRT station at 11.30pm towards Dhoby Ghaut MRT station.

North East Line

The last train towards Harbourfront will leave the following stations at these times:

Punggol Station - 12.02am
Serangoon Station - 12.13am
Dhoby Ghaut Station - 12.25am
Chinatown Station - 12.29am
Outram Park Station - 12.31am

The last train towards Punggol will leave the following stations at these times:

HarbourFront Station - 12.30am
Outram Park Station - 12.33am
Chinatown Station - 12.35am
Dhoby Ghaut Station - 12.39am
Serangoon Station - 12.51am

These timings also apply for the evening of the closing ceremony on June 16.

Downtown Line

The last train in the direction of Bugis will depart Chinatown Station at 12.14am, Bayfront Station at 12.19am and Promenade Station at 12.21am.

The last train towards Chinatown will leave Bugis Station at 12.16am, Promenade Station at 12.18am and Bayfront Station at 12.20am.

These timings also apply for the evening of the closing ceremony on June 16.

LRT train service

The train services on the LRT lines will be extended to coincide with the last train arrivals on the MRT lines.

Bukit Panjang LRT
The last Bukit Panjang LRT train will depart Choa Chu Kang station at 1.31am.

Sengkang LRT
The last train on the Sengkang LRT will depart the Town Centre Station at 1.05am.

Punggol LRT
The last train on the Punggol LRT will depart the Town Centre at 1.07am.

Extended bus service hours

Some bus services at Bukit Batok, Choa Chu Kang, Sembawang, Woodlands and Yishun will also be extended to beyond 1.30am.

The buses and timings are:

Bus services affected due to road closures

On June 7, eight SBS Transit bus services will be skipping bus stops in the East Coast and Kallang area while the SEA Games marathon is being held.

Bus services 10, 11, 14, 16, 30, 70M, 158 and 196 will skip bus stops along Fort Road, Mountbatten Road, Nicoll Highway, Rhu Cross, Stadium Boulevard, Stadium Crescent, Stadium Walk and Tanjong Rhu Road from 5am to 10am.

For the cycling event from June 9-14, bus service 400 will skip bus stops along Anson Road, Cecil Street, Central Boulevard, Marina Boulevard, Marina Gardens Drive, Palmer Road and Shenton Way on:

· Tuesday, June 9, 9am to 1pm;
· Wednesday, June 10, 9am to 1pm;
· Thursday, June 11, 2am to 2pm;
· Friday, June 12, 7am to 1.30pm;
· Saturday, June 13, 1am to 1.30pm; and
· Sunday, June 14, 1am to 3.00pm.

In addition, bus services 36 and 48 will also skip bus stops along Tanjong Katong Road South and Temasek Boulevard on June 11 from 2am to 2.30pm.

For the road race, 17 SBS Transit bus services - 10, 30, 36, 57, 70, 97, 100, 107, 130, 131, 133, 162, 186, 196, 402, 502 and 518 - will skip bus stops along Anson Road, Bayfront Avenue, Cecil Street, Central Boulevard, Fort Road, Marina Boulevard, Marina Coastal Drive, Mountbatten Road, Palmer Road, Shenton Way, Temasek Boulevard and Temasek Avenue.

This will be on:

· Saturday, June 13, 1am to 1.30pm; and
· Sunday, June 14, 1am to 3pm.
