Third-seeded Ferrer books Miami semi-final

MIAMI (AFP) - Third-seeded Spaniard David Ferrer rallied for a 4-6, 6-3, 6-0 victory over unseeded Austrian Jurgen Melzer Wednesday to lead the way into the semi-finals of the Miami ATP Masters.

Ferrer, winner of titles in Auckland and Buenos Aires already this year, will face either French 11th seed Gilles Simon or giant-killer Tommy Haas of Germany for a place in the title match.

Haas, the 15th seed, toppled world No. 1 Novak Djokovic in straight sets on Tuesday to book his quarter-final berth.
