Tennis: Switzerland's Bencic out of French Open

PARIS (AFP) - World No. 8 Belinda Bencic of Switzerland has been ruled out injured of the French Open at Roland Garros, tournament organisers announced on Tuesday.

The 19-year-old has back problems and has not played since the clay-court Charleston tournament in April, when she fell 6-1, 6-1 in the second round to Russian Elena Vesnina.

She will be replaced by American Lauren Davis, ranked 115th in the world, in the draw for the second Grand Slam tournament of the season from May 22 to June 5 in Paris.
