SINGAPORE - Five-time Grand Slam winner Mario Sharapova has declared she is all ready for the Oct 25-Nov 1 WTA Finals, to be held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Addressing a crowd of almost 200 at the Fullerton Bay Hotel, the 28-year-old said: "I had a consistent first half of the year and now it's the chance for me to get the last few months going."

Last month, injury forced her to withdraw from the China Open in Beijing. But the Russian said: "It's not convenient but I'm healthy now."

Sharapova was speaking on the sidelines of an event organised by luxury Swiss watchmakers Tag Heuer. She is an ambassador of the brand.

At the event, she played an exhibition game against 1989 French Open winner Michael Chang on Singapore's first 'floating tennis platform', anchored at Clifford Pier.

They were then joined by the Republic's SEA Games tennis players Angeline Devi Devanthiran and Shaheed Alam and played a friendly mixed doubles game.
