INDIAN WELLS, United States (AFP) - France's Kristina Mladenovic defeated former world number one Caroline Wozniacki 3-6, 7-6 (7/4), 6-2 on Thursday (March 16) to reach the semi-finals of the Indian Wells WTA hard court tournament.

The 26th-ranked Mladenovic, who is projected to break into the top 20 in the world for the first time by reaching the final four, will play either seven-time Grand Slam champion Venus Williams or Russian Elena Vesnina for a place in the final.
