Marion Bartoli will play in the inaugural WTA Legends Event in Singapore next month, becoming the third player to be annnounced for the four-player field.
The 2013 Wimbledon champion was announced in the line-up on Monday, joining Martina Navratilova and Tracy Austin in the tournament, which will be held alongisde the Oct 17-26 BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global.
Said the Frenchwoman, who shocked the tennis world when she announced her retirement shortly after winning Wimbledon last year: "It's so exciting that a Legends contest has been added to what promises to be an amazing 10-day sports festival. It will be a chance to relive memories and also make new ones, and I'm sure I speak for the other legends when I say we'll all be in it to win it!"
Singapore is the first city in Asia Pacific to host the WTA's prestigious year-ender. It will feature the season's top eight singles players and top eight doubles pairs.
