SINGAPORE - Tennis took centre-stage on Wednesday night at the Marina Square's Central Atrium during a special Longines event that gave invited guests a chance to meet and rally with representatives from the Longines Future Tennis Aces (LFTA) tournaments.

An exhibition outside the Longines' boutique at Marina Square showcasing the luxury watch's involvement and longstanding relationship with the French Open was also officially launched.

Among the youth players that were in action on the mini tennis courts set up at the mall included Singaporean Alexis Lynn Tan, who will represent the Republic at this year's LFTA event at this month's French Open in Paris.

The 12-year-old Methodist Girls' School Secondary One student will compete against players from 15 other countries such as the United States, Spain and Italy at the Under-13 tournament, held alongside the French Open and now into its seventh edition.

The finalists will also get a chance to play in an exhibition match against Spanish former world No. 1 Arantxa Sanchez Vicario after the LFTA final on May 28.

Meanwhile, the Roland Garros in the City event at Marina Square, a series of tennis-related activities including mini tennis lessons for children and adults, will run daily from 10am-9.30pm until Sunday, May 22.
