Table tennis: Juniors finish South-east Asian Junior C'ships as top nation

Singapore's young paddlers enjoyed a rich harvest at the South-east Asian Junior Table Tennis Championships, finishing the annual competition with eight golds from 13 events.

The team, by far the best performing nation out of seven countries which took part, also took home four silvers and five bronzes.

Singapore won four more golds on Tuesday, with Clarence Chew taking the Under-18 boys' singles titles while Lin Ye accounted for the Under-18 girls' singles title.

Ang Wan Qi also bagged the Under-15 girls' singles title.

The Republic also completed a 1-2-3 finish in the mixed doubles event. Clarence and Lin Ye took the gold, with team-mates Kerry Tan and Yee Herng Hwee taking the silver while Tay Jit Kiat and Wan Qi completed the podium in third place.
