Singapore's Tao Li clocked 58.94sec in the women's 100m butterfly heats at the World Championships in Barcelona on Sunday morning, earning her a semi-final berth.

Her time put her 13th out of the top 16 swimmers in the event. She is scheduled to compete for a place in the last eight in the evening session.

Meanwhile, Samantha Yeo clocked 2min 20.19s in the women's 200m individual medley to rank 38th out of 44 swimmers. Lynette Lim completed the women's 400m freestyle in 4:14.76, missing out on a place in the finals.

The women's 4x100m freestyle quartet, made up of Quah Ting Wen, Amanda Lim, Mylene Ong and Lynette, clocked 3:48.85 to finish 14th out of 15 teams. They fell short of their 2009 national record of 3:45.73.
