Swimming: S'pore quartet clock 4min 10.69sec in women's 4x100m medley relay

A quartet made up of Tao Li, Samantha Yeo, Quah Ting Wen and Amanda Lim clocked 4min 10.69sec in the women's 4x100m medley relay at the swimming world championships in Barcelona on Sunday.

They missed out on a place in the final after the time put them 15th out of 19 teams, which included France and Italy, who were disqualified.

Still, it is a creditable time that puts the Singapore team close to the national mark of 4:10.38. Tao and Quah were part of the team that set the 2009 record in supersuits that are now banned. Shana Lim and Roanne Ho made up the other two of that team at the 2009 SEA Games.

This concludes Singapore's campaign at the biennial meet.
