SINGAPORE - Singapore swimmer Joseph Schooling clocked the 15th-fastest 100m butterfly time during the 2015-16 swim season, when he won the event at the Atlanta Classic in 51.86sec on Friday.

The 20-year-old finished ahead of America's Tom Shields (52.02) and his University of Texas team-mate Jack Conger (53.33).

While his timing puts him the world top 20 ranking for this season, it is some way short of his personal best time of 50.96, set when he won the bronze medal at last year's Fina World Championships in Kazan, Russia.

South Africa's Chad le Clos holds to fastest timing in the 100 fly this season, clocking 51.09 at the Fina World Cup series in Dubai last November.
