Swimmer Quah Zheng Wen has been named Team Singapore's flag-bearer for next month's Asian Youth Games in Nanjing, China.

The 16-year-old received the nation's flag from chef de mission Sharon Tan on Wednesday in a presentation ceremony which was graced by Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean, who is also the president of the Singapore National Olympic Council.

Singapore will be represented by 84 athletes in eight sports in Nanjing: aquatics (swimming and diving), athletics, badminton, fencing, football, judo, shooting and table tennis.
