Participants of next month's The Straits Times Run at the Hub can have their friends and family cheer them on as they complete the event in the National Stadium.

Slots for 2,000 spectators will be made available to race goers for the Sept 27 event, with each runner allowed a maximum of two passes for their guests to roar them on at the National Stadium finishing point. Runners will have to indicate the number of guests they wish to invite during registration.

A ballot will be done if the number of requested guests exceeds 2,000.

Said ST Run at the Hub organising committee chairman Marc Lim: "The joy of finishing one's race, especially under the National Stadium's iconic domed roof, is something runners will want to share with their loved ones.

"This is why we're opening up limited slots for spectators to come and join in the fun at the finish."

Successful applicants will be issued with the spectators bands during the race-pack collection from Sept 18-20 at OCBC Square at the Sports Hub.

Race goers can also also purchase shuttle-bus tickets at the race-pack collection.

Those competing in the 10km and 18.45km race categories may choose a pick-up point from 36 MRT/LRT locations, where they will be shuttled to a drop-off point along Nicoll Highway.

From there, they will be within walking distance to the starting point at the Singapore Sports Hub.

All buses are expected to arrive at least 45 minutes before each category's flag-off time - scheduled for 5am (18.45km) and 6.30am (10km).

Tickets are priced at $6 each and can be bought online until Sept 17.

The purchase of each bus ticket will be indicated on the participants' race confirmation slips. They will then have to print and present their slips upon boarding the bus.
