ST Run in the City: BodyCombat class gets runners fighting fit for July 16 event

SINGAPORE - A BodyCombat class at local gym True Fitness on Saturday (June 10) morning was one of the fringe activities leading up to the July 16 The Straits Times (ST) Run in the City.

BodyCombat is an energetic cardiovascular workout which draws its inspiration from a wide array of martial arts like karate, boxing, taekwondo, taiji and muay thai.

A programme instructor was present to supervise the session, and adrenaline-pumping music was played throughout the workout.

Prior to this BodyCombat session, there were four other fringe activities to help participants gear up for the ST Run.

The Breakfast Run was first on the list, in which runners took part in a 3km run followed by breakfast and a coffee-appreciation session.

This was followed by a 5km run at Suntec City, an indoor cycling session and a 3km sunset run on May 27.

The ST Run is into its fifth edition and features three race categories: the 5km fun run, and the 10km and 18.45km competitive runs.
