Yakult Singapore managing director Kiyotaka Sakurai with Singapore Swimming Association (SSA) president Lee Kok Choy at a sponsorship renewal event yesterday at Yakult Singapore's Senoko office. The Straits Times understands that the new three-year deal is a six-figure cash sponsorship, which will see Yakult remain as SSA's official healthy family drink, as well as the presenting sponsor of the Fina Swimming World Cup Singapore. Yakult Singapore first partnered the SSA in 2009, and will be the national sports association's longest-standing partner with the new deal. With the extension, eight aquatic athletes, including swimmer Amanda Lim and divers Timothy and Mark Lee, will serve as Yakult ambassadors this year.
