StanChart Kids Dash at Orchard Road

The 600m Kids Dash will be run for the first time on Orchard Road on Dec 3 , a day ahead of the Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore (SCMS), with the shopping street to be closed for this event.

Around 5,000 young runners aged six to 13 will race amid the sparkling Christmas lights from Ngee Ann City towards the finish line at ION Orchard.

Chinese owners may give Maldini role

MILAN • AC Milan legend Paolo Maldini could end his exile from football if the Chinese consortium buying the seven-time European champions give him a "direct role of responsibility".

The 48-year-old has remained an elusive figure since he quit the Italian team in 2009. But he said he is ready to return, if he is offered a role allowing him to have a direct say in playing matters.

Leagues against bias towards big teams

LONDON • The group representing Europe's domestic football leagues is refusing to accept the proposed changes to the Champions League that guarantee four places for the strongest nations.

Lars-Christer Olsson, chairman of European Professional Football Leagues, said there was almost unanimous opposition to the changes, including from England and Spain.
