Season-best timing for S'pore relay team

The national men's 4x100m relay team of Hariz Darajit, Calvin Kang, Ariff Januri and Timothee Yap posted a season-best 40.22sec to finish sixth at the Asian Athletics Championships in Odisha, India on Saturday.

The women's quartet of Wendy Enn, Shanti Pereira, Kugapriya Chandran and Nur Izlyn placed seventh with their 45.97sec effort.

Yesterday, Pereira clocked 23.80sec in the 200m final, finishing seventh.


Ajax's Nouri slightly better after collapse

THE HAGUE • Ajax said midfielder Abdelhak Nouri was "out of life-threatening danger" but still in care.

The 20-year-old Dutch player collapsed during a training match against Werder Bremen in Austria on Saturday.

Atthaya Thitikul - aged just 14 years and four months - sealed a two-shot victory at the Ladies European Thailand Championship in Pattaya.
