JAKARTA • Singapore golfer Quincy Quek shot a two-under 70 yesterday at the BNI Indonesian Masters and is joint-31st on 212.

Compatriot Mardan Mamat (72) was tied-52nd on 215 after three rounds at the Asian Tour tournament. Thai Poom Saksansin (65) leads on 203 at the Royale Jakarta Golf Club.

The Republic's Gregory Foo shot an even-par 72 at the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship in Incheon, South Korea and is joint-16th on 218. Australian Brett Coletta (68) leads after three rounds on 202 at the Jack Nicklaus Golf Club.


Kyrgios to face Goffin for Japan Open crown

TOKYO • Australian firebrand Nick Kyrgios will take on Belgium's David Goffin in the Japan Open final, after both tennis players stomped on more experienced opponents in their semi-finals yesterday.

Sixth seed Kyrgios overpowered French second seed Gael Monfils with a succession of fiery forehand shots that only intensified in the second set, taking him to a 6-4, 6-4 win.

Fifth-seeded Goffin beat fourth seed Marin Cilic of Croatia 7-5, 6-4, demonstrating he is a strong contender for the Tokyo trophy.

Jang has six-shot lead in Taiwan after three rounds

TAIPEI • South Korea's Jang Ha Na fired a 10-under 62 yesterday to take a six-shot lead with a 200 total after the third round of the LPGA Taiwan Championship.

China's Feng Shanshan carded 67 for a 206 total at the Miramar Golf and Country Club in New Taipei City to keep a one-shot lead over South Korea's Park Hee Young (69), who co-led the second round with Jang.

Jang is aiming for her third win of the season after victories at the Coates Golf Championship Presented by R+L Carriers and the HSBC Women's Champions.
