Mainstream kids can join local para event

The Singapore Disability Sports Council will, for the first time, welcome students with disabilities in mainstream schools to its National Youth Para Athletics Championships.

The one-day meet tomorrow at Hougang Stadium will have two categories, junior (seven to 12) and senior (13 to 18).

The areas of eligibility are visual impairment, cerebral palsy/physical impairment, and intellectual impairment.


Eagles land Jalan Besar home ties

Due to the closure of Bedok Stadium from May to September for renovations, Geylang International will play their S-League home matches at the Jalan Besar Stadium.

The Eagles' Prime League home games will be played at Woodlands Stadium during this period.


S'pore wins two golds at athletics c'ships

Singapore ended its South-east Asian Youth Athletics Championships outing with two golds, seven silvers and five bronzes.

The Republic finished fifth among eight countries in the medal tally.

Vietnam topped the table with 13 golds and eight silvers at the March 27-28 meet, followed by Malaysia (6-6-6) and Indonesia (6-2-4). Hosts Philippines were sixth after winning one gold, nine silvers and 15 bronzes at the Ilagan City Sports Complex in Isabela.
