Indonesia's Inez takes lead at Sembawang

Indonesian golfer Beatrice Inez fired an opening two-under 70 yesterday at the Singapore Ladies' Golf Association Amateur Open.

She leads Singapore's Jen Goh by a single stroke at the Sembawang Country Club.

The World Amateur Golf Ranking event, which ends tomorrow, has attracted 54 women from 10 countries including Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Taiwan and India.

Medical for Cuadrado before Juventus move MILAN • Chelsea forward Juan Cuadrado was set to undergo a medical check-up at Juventus yesterday before joining the Italian side on a season-long loan deal.

Sakho denial follows arrest on kill threat

LONDON • Diafra Sakho, 25, of West Ham United, has been arrested on suspicion of witness intimidation and making threats to kill, with the Senegal international's spokesman saying yesterday that the striker denies the allegations.

Scotland Yard said officers made an arrest on Sunday.
