Hospital may release Blatter next week
GENEVA • Suspended Fifa president Sepp Blatter has been hospitalised, after being placed under medical observation for stress, but he is expecting to be released early next week, his spokesman said yesterday.
The 79-year-old Swiss underwent a "medical evaluation" at home last week following a "stress-related" incident.

England rugby coach Lancaster leaves
LONDON • Stuart Lancaster has stepped down as England head coach by "mutual consent", the Rugby Football Union announced yesterday.
His departure, 31/2 years after his appointment, was expected in the light of England's disastrous World Cup campaign, which saw them become the first host nation to be eliminated in the group phase.

Hamilton ill but will still race in Brazil
LONDON • Triple Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton is unwell but will compete in this weekend's Brazilian Grand Prix, Mercedes said yesterday.
A team spokesman said the 30-year-old Briton had a fever but was set to fly to Sao Paulo yesterday for the penultimate race of the season.

Miura, 48, to play on for another year
