Ex-footballer Petit coaches kids at clinic
Former Arsenal and Chelsea player Emmanuel Petit conducted a football clinic for children aged seven to 12 at the Jalan Besar Stadium yesterday.
The Frenchman is in town to promote the new Eleven Sports Network, and will be a guest pundit for tonight's Community Shield match between his two former clubs.
Para-athletes make Games bid
More than 200 para-athletes took part 71 events at the National Para Athletics Championships at the Toa Payoh Stadium yesterday.
This year's events also served as selection trials for the Asean Para Games, which will be held in Singapore from Dec 3 to 9.
Paddlers mark SG50 with passion
Singapore paddlers celebrated the nation's 50th birthday with the PAssion Table Tennis event at Yishun Street 81, where 50 table tennis tables were set up for the competition.
The event was supported by the SG50 Celebration Fund and featured teams representing five categories - men's Open, women's Open, veteran, youth and children - to promote inter-generational bonding.

Yorkshire quick Plunkett and uncapped Derbyshire left-armer Footitt have been included after spearhead James Anderson was ruled out with a body side injury.
