Bolt skips 100m in trials

KINGSTON - Usain Bolt is no longer listed to run in the 100 metres at Jamaica's national senior trials, sparking concerns about his fitness ahead of August's world athletics championships in Beijing.

The 100m and 200m world record-holder has struggled for form this year. The 10-time world championship medallist had intended to run at the Jamaican trials as he seeks race sharpness.

Tevez to return to Boca?

BUENOS AIRES - Carlos Tevez is set to return to his first football club, Boca Juniors, after the Argentinian side reached agreement with Italian champions Juventus.

Boca general secretary Cesar Martucci said in a radio interview that the transfer was a done deal, even though there was no official confirmation in Buenos Aires or Turin. He gave no details of the deal but said Tevez would be paraded before the fans at the club's stadium on July 7.

Deulofeu moves to Everton

LONDON - Everton have signed winger Gerard Deulofeu from Barcelona on a three-year contract for £4.3 million

(S$9 million), the English Premier League football club announced yesterday.

The 21-year-old Spaniard spent the 2013-14 season on loan at Goodison Park and made 29 appearances, scoring three league goals. Deulofeu, who spent last season on loan at Sevilla, is Everton's second signing of the new season following the arrival of midfielder Tom Cleverley from Manchester United on a free transfer.
