A series of activities in line with this year's SingTel Singapore Grand Prix is set to bring the annual race closer to motorsports fans.

It includes "The Big Race", an island-wide search for Singapore's fastest race driver on the Official F1 racing game through four public roadshows as well as "The Singapore Factor", a reality programme starring this year's eight SingTel Grid Girls completing challenges.

This year's Singapore Grand Prix trophy is also designed by a home-grown company, a first for the race, now into its sixth year. The Singapore GP will take place from Sept 20-22.

Said Mr Allen Lew, country chief officer Singapore of SingTel: "We are constantly looking for ways to capture the hearts and minds of Singaporeans with unique F1 experiences. This year, we are going local on all possible fronts. The theme, Formula 1 Singapore Style, aims to create an F1 experience where everyone can be involved - both on and off the race tracks."
