Singapore's artistic gymnasts end Day 4 with two silvers

SINGAPORE - The Republic's artistic gymnasts clinched two more SEA Games silvers on day four of the competition at the Bishan Sports Hall on Tuesday afternoon.

Hoe Wah Toon won the first when he scored 14.566 on the men's floor exercise. He was sandwiched by Philippines' Reyland Capellan (14.733) and Vietnam's Pham Phuoc Hung (14.500).

The second was won by men's captain Gabriel Gan in the men's pommel horse with a 14.533 showing, just short of Thailand's Rartchawat Kaewpanya (14.666). Vietnam's Le Thanh Tung took the bronze with 13.233.

In the men's rings, Vietnam completed a one-two courtesy of Dang Nam (15.300) and Pham Phuong Hung (14.033). Thailand's Weena Chokpaoumpai was in third with 13.166.

The women's vault final saw Phan Thi Ha Thanh of Vietnam ease comfortbaly to victory with a score of 13.983. Malaysians Tan Ing Yueh (13.466) and Farah Ann Abdul Hadi (13.316) completed the podium.

Malaysia's Tan then went one further in the women's uneven bars, clinching gold (12.766). Ava Lorein Verdeflor won silver (12.366) while Farah took third (12.200).
