SINGAPORE - The Singapore Swimming Association (SSA) announced a five-year sponsorship deal with Evacuation and Medical Support Unit Pte Ltd (EMS) worth about $350,000 on Thursday (June 16).

This sponsorship deal is a renewal of the partnership between the two parties, and will last till the end of 2020.

As part of the deal, EMS will act as the official medical support provider for all locally organised competitions across the association's four aquatics disciplines - swimming, synchronised swimming, water polo and diving.

"EMS has been an excellent partner so far, and it has provided evacuation and medical services at all local and international meets," said Mr Ahmad Ridhwan, SSA's operations director.

"Its support has been integral to the organisation of meets and athletes are able to compete knowing that there is efficient, reliable and dependable medical support on standby at all times."

The sponsorship renewal will see EMS continue as one of the SSA's corporate sponsors, which include OCBC Bank, 100Plus, Volkswagen, Neo Garden and apparel company TYR.

Just last month, the SSA announced a five-year, $1.6-million cash-and-kind partnership with TYR - the biggest sponsorship deal ever signed by the association.
