Sailing coach Fernando Javier Alegre is Singapore's Coach of the Year 2012.
He led Singapore to victory at the 2012 Optimist World Championships, claiming all of the medals on offer.
Besides retaining their Team and Best Performing Nation titles, his team also cruised to the top three spots in the individual category.
Alegre beat a host of four other finalists including table tennis' Zhou Shusen, football's Raddy Avramovic, canoeing's Babella Balazs and silat's Hidayat Hosni.
