Singapore in the swim at the Special Olympics

Singapore's Siau Ek Jin, 25, swimming in the 4x50m relay yesterday at the Special Olympics Singapore National Games held at the United World College South East Asia, Dover Campus. She teamed up with Joshua Tang, 24, Jamie Jeyes, 16, and Annie McGuire, 18, for the race. The quartet clocked 3min 27.46sec, but they were later disqualified for setting a time that was 20 per cent faster than the entry time. The three-day multi-sport competition for the intellectually disabled ended with a closing ceremony held yesterday evening at the Mandarin Orchard Hotel, attended by Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, Grace Fu. The next Special Olympics Singapore National Games will take place in 2021.
