Singapore assured of at least 3 bronze medals in fencing on Thursday

SINGAPORE - Team Singapore are guaranteed at least three bronze medals in the SEA Games fencing competition on Thursday.

Kevin Chan defeated team-mate Joshua Lim 15-10 to reach the semi-finals of the men's individual foil event.

In the women's individual sabre, Lau Ywen reached the last four after beating Indonesian Anggraini Reni 15-8.

Another semi-finalist is Rahardja Rania Herlina in the women's individual epee. She squeaked past Indonesian Pertiwi Dian 15-13.

All semi-finalists are guaranteed a bronze medal as there is no play-off for third place.
