Sign up early for ST Run to win fitness gadgets, hampers

If you need another incentive to register for The Straits Times (ST) Run at the Hub, here is one - early birds stand a chance to win exercise machines and hampers.

Those who sign up before July 19 are eligible to win one of three Aibi X Power machines, each worth up to $599, and one of 10 L'Oreal hampers, each worth up to $300.

The Aibi X Power, which is sponsored by fitness equipment company Aibi, is an exercise machine which incorporates both arcing and swinging motions that give users an abdominal workout in just five minutes a day.

The hampers, which are sponsored by L'Oreal Singapore, will have cosmetic items such as facial cleansers, foaming creams, eye moisturisers and more.

In addition to the prizes for early registration, those who finish in the top positions of their categories will also stand a chance to win a Land Rover Discovery Sport and other prizes such as a Panasonic 50" 4K Smart TV or Panasonic 4K 3D Blu-Ray Home Theatre.

The ST Run at The Hub, which will be held on Sept 27, has three categories - the 5km ($48), 10km ($58) and 18.45km ($68).

The introduction of a new 18.45km category, which is to mark the 170th anniversary of The Straits Times and the year it was founded, will give runners a journey through time, via music, images and headlines from the national newspaper over the past years.

This is the third instalment of the event, with the inaugural edition held at the Punggol Waterway back in 2013.

Last year saw the mass run as the first to end under the National Stadium's iconic domed roof.

All three editions have been backed by main sponsor, electronics giant Panasonic.
